MOT

If you drive a vehicle over three years old, you must keep it in a safe and roadworthy condition. The MOT test checks that your vehicle meets road safety and environmental standards. Class 4 MOTs are suitable for: cars, small vans and motor caravans (up to 3,000kg).

MOT tests can only be carried out by trained and experienced specialists at centres authorised by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

The MOT test isn’t the same as having your vehicle serviced and doesn’t check its general mechanical condition. But we always recommend that you get your vehicle regularly serviced on top of the compulsory MOT test.
